Our lives can be hectic. It is essential to reconnect to our senses and increase self-awareness. We can do this through meditation. Modern science is documenting the positive effects of meditation as it relates to both physical and mental health. I personally find it easier to fall into a relaxed, meditative state when the only ambient noise is nature.
SUPing on calm waters is definitely meditative in itself. Whether standing or sitting, as I gently pull the paddle through the water, moving my arms from one side to the other, I feel at ease. No text messages or emails to attend to.
SUP Yoga, which I LOVE, requires balance and can be physically challenging. Shavasana, corpse pose at the end is truly appreciated, and it's where we truly reap the benefits!
